Diversity management PDF Print E-mail
beyond sexual harassment,
prosperous gender relations

In the beginning, attorneys taught managers the threat of Sexual Harassment Liability. Even female managers emerged from these workshops shell-shocked by the implications of previously innocent comments or gestures.

Today, our workplace is more diverse, and we need to understand a marketplace that defies classification. Today, our markets include cultures of different countries, as well as a U.S. population that doesn’t identify with the nuclear family of Father, Mother at home, and 2.3 children.

Two New Truths

  • We won’t be working next to people who think just like us, and
  • We need folks who don’t think like us, so we can capture our markets.

As both managers and subordinates, women are aggravated by inept managers questioning "Why can’t a woman think more like a man!" On the other hand, there are managers who involve everyone available, and reach new benchmarks of performance. We teach managers to manage diversity.

We wrote a book on this topic. Please take home a free chapter!
